What the template covers

The template gives you a working AMP structure aligned to the ISO 55000 series. Each section opens with a guidance box that tells you what to write and where the input data comes from, then a scaffolding table ready to fill: policy and SAMP alignment, stakeholder requirements, asset register, condition, criticality, lifecycle plan, annual works plan, work order management, support functions, risk and performance review.

Strategy and inputs

Policy and SAMP alignment, stakeholder requirements, asset register, condition and criticality: the evidence base the plan stands on.

The plan itself

Lifecycle intent across 20-year horizons, the annual works plan and work order management, broken into tables you can complete section by section.

Support and review

What the plan needs from ICT, HSEQ, training and finance, plus risk management and the reviews that sustain value year on year.

What is an asset management plan?

An asset management plan (AMP) documents the activities, resources and timescales applied to an asset portfolio to deliver an organisation’s asset management objectives. In the ISO 55000 series it sits below the Asset Management Policy and the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP): the Policy states why, the SAMP states what, and the AMP states how. Our guide to the 13 key elements of a successful asset management plan walks through each part in detail.
